It’s arguable that 2013 was the best year ever but it was not all bad considering plenty of Harding students and staff stellar moments.
Last year’s entertainment was unlike any other before. Popular dance moves included twerking, PSY’s wrist-crossed galloping, and spasms called the Harlem Shake. New artist emerged such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Lorde, Ariana Grande, and Icona Pop premiered with toe-tapping tunes.
Seniors Daisha Frieson and Jacob Schroeder agreed Miley Cyrus’ twerking at the 2013 MTV VMA’s will go down as the best moment of the year.
Many Harding students attended concerts of their favorite artists.
The best part of 2013 for junior Jocelyn Monetes was “[attending] the Rihanna concert.”
“I got to see my boo Beyonce’,” said senior Julia Johnson.
Personal stepping stones and achievements were also a big deal.
Ahzhane’ Peevy’s highlight of 2013 was “falling in love with Bryan Flint,” her long time best friend, who returned Peevy’s feelings.
Grant Fisher’s finest moment was his 17th birthday.
Junior Ashley Kendrick big accomplishment for the year was simply, “not dying.”
Jessica Adkins, junior managed to stray away from trouble in the past year.
One of Harding’s biggest achievement of the year was “[winning] the Blue Ribbon award,” said principle Justin Hunt.
The new year brings oppurtunities for students to better themeselves and have new experiences. Happy 2014!
