The week of Oct.9, HCP’s Latinx Student Association is holding their annual spirit week to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. During the week, students are encouraged to participate in dress up days and fun activities.
On Monday Oct. 9, students can pay $4 to dress up for the week or $1 per day. For $20 up front, students can get all dress up days and activities (minus the food truck).
Monday: Parents Day
What makes your parents unique? Maybe they have a cool job or an interesting style. Go rummage through their closet and come to school dressed as your parents.
Be creative with your outfits!
After school, LSA will be selling Aguas Frescas along with assorted fruits such as pineapple, watermelon and mango. They will be $2 each.
Tuesday: Jersey Day
What’s your favorite sport? Is it football, soccer, or maybe even baseball and hockey? Show off your favorite players by sporting their team’s jersey.
After school there will be a taco truck. Students can also participate in a ‘Mini World Cup’ soccer game, which starts at 3:30. This event is free, but on a first come first serve basis.
Wednesday: Character Day
Are you a movie or cartoon lover? If so, come to school dressed as your favorite character! If movies and cartoons aren’t your style, you can always come dressed as your favorite celebrity.
Before school, you can buy pan y chocolate and hot chocolate for $1 a piece.
Thursday: International/Cultural Day
Thursday is all about celebrating everyone’s unique culture. Come to school wearing anything that represents who you are, as long as it doesn’t infringe on a culture that isn’t yours.
After school you can buy elotes from LSA for $3. For $5 you can also get a Loteria card that can be used that evening during Loteria night, which starts at 4:00. All the winners will get a prize.
Friday: Vaquero Day
Ready to show off those cowboy boots? Come to school in cowboy/cowgirl attire for Vaquero Day.
Friday we will be on an assembly schedule. All students are welcome to come and watch. There will be dancing, speakers, challenges and a big surprise at the end.
