Junior Allegra Knight made even more HCP history this past weekend at the Meet of Champions.
Knight placed 27th out of the top 50 runners in the state, earning her a spot as an alternate for the 2013 High School Oklahoma Team.
“I will not count for any points, but it will be a great experience running with fast girls,” Knight said.
The 2013 High School Oklahoma Team will race against the 2013 High School Arkansas Team on Saturday, November 16.
Algebra II teacher Steven Stefanick congratulated Knight on her success.
“It’s a race that will be mainly just for fun,” Stefanick said. “It’s a good way for her to finish a great year for being recognized on the Oklahoma Team.”
The cross country team had a lot of success this year, giving HCP a great start to athletics for the 2013-2014 school year.
Athletic director Mylo Miller is also ecstatic about Knight’s success.
“Whether she goes out and has success in running or band, she represents Harding collectively,” Miller said. “Her success is great.”
