“I’m very excited to be in a higher position and to have responsibilites,” Hargis said. “I’m also looking forward to helping the student body and being a great leader.”

Hargis is going into her junior year as STUCO’s secretary.

“During the campaign,  I enjoyed making the signs and stuff but I started to doubt myself because my competition was strong  but I was definitely excited when I found out that I had won,” Hargis said..

Just like Hargis, senior class secretary Julissa Soto began to doubt herself as well.

“I was nervous I had tough  competition to be honest,” Soto said. “It feels good though, now that I have a big responsibility to make our class memorable. Whatever Joey decides, I’ll help him out and put my top effort in any activities we plan.”

All of the class officers recognize their positions as very important.

“I feel like I now have a voice in our class. I’m excited to plan prom and other things for the junior class,” said junior class vice president Paige Langley.

Junior Class President, Joey Maher excited to learn that he won the election.

“I’d been telling them all week while I was running what I wanted to do and they told me ‘Yeah, I’ll vote for you’ but you never really know. Are they actually going to vote for me or are they just telling me that. It was cool,” Maher said. “People had positive reactions. It was across the board. Not many were opposed to me wanting to run,” he added.

The senior class will plan the 2015 Winter Formal, graduation and any reunions after graduation.
