Kylee Moore is one of many new teachers at Harding Charter Prep. Moore teaches Oklahoma History and AP World History. She additionally can teach all history courses, any social sciences and civics.
A quote that stuck with her when becoming a teacher was “knowledge is power.”
“I strongly believe that knowledge is power and I have always wanted to be someone who helps people get further in life,” Moore said. “I also see how difficult life can be for teenagers and I want to be a positive and encouraging person in a student’s life that can help them be successful.” She said she wants to push and help kids to find their educational potential.
One thing that drives Moore to teach at Harding is the abundant and equal opportunities given to students no matter their background. All students here take Advanced Placement and honors courses.
“When I was researching schools in the OKC metro I learned that Harding was a school that values equal opportunities to students,” Moore said. “This really spoke to me. I think it is a shame that students miss out on opportunities to push themselves academically because of their circumstances.”
Outside of school, Moore enjoys listening to the singer Harry Styles, and listed him as the person she would most like to meet.
“Harry Styles, because his music makes me feel alive,” Moore said. “The music makes me feel as if I am driving on the highway during a sunny summer day with the windows down and my hair blowing with the wind.”
