Both HCP basketball teams had a successful Homecoming and Senior Night on Valentine’s Day.

Senior and Homecoming King Tyrius Johnson is proud of how the boys team played against Santa Fe South.

“We played well together as a team,” Johnson said.

The team had previously played against Santa Fe South earlier in the season, so they knew it would be a tight game. However, the team gelled together smoothly and won.

“The more we play, the smarter we become as a team,” Johnson said.

Senior and Homecoming Queen Cydney Washington is happy with how the girls played.

“I think that we played to the best of our ability,” Washington said, “I think that we had fun while we played and won, so that was a plus.”

Athletic Director Mylo Miller is also impressed with how the teams played for Homecoming and Senior Night.

“I think it all [homecoming and senior night] went great,” Miller said, “We just took care of business and won all three games.”
