As the regular season ends, the Eagles volleyball team has accumulated an 11-10 record this season, improving on their 2023 season by losing five less games so far.
They look forward to making a run in the upcoming playoffs this weekend, with games starting on Friday.
The Eagles had their Senior night game on Tuesday, losing against The Academy, #3 ranked in Class 3A.
The Eagles lost all three sets (25-17, 25-6, 25-9).
The Eagles were coming of a 3-game winning streak, previously beating Life Christian Academy, Millwood and Harding Fine Arts all 3-0 in sets coming into that game.
The seniors recognized were Natalie Thompson, Mae Caudle, Amira Escoffery, Sophie Calvo, Daleshia Nash, Hannah Tichenor and Kaira Jackson. These seniors played their last game in the Eagles Nest.
The Class of 2025 have now raised their win count to 40 wins in their high school career.
Senior Mae Caudle said the things she’ll miss the most is “the joy from winning and playing with my teammates!”
Senior Sophie Calvo said her most memorable moments were “the times when I spent time with my teammates off the court and got to build friendships with them.”
“I felt like this translated into more exciting and memorable games,” she added.
“I’ll miss having something to do after school and something that takes my mind off other things going on in my life,” said senior Natalie Thompson. “Volleyball is what gave me a support system and friends at Harding. Having that sense of community is something I will miss for sure.”
