Harding Charters Cross Country season has started, and runners and coaches have begun preparing for meets with the hopes of making it to state. Coach Busick, head coach of Cross-Country, shared the team’s struggles and what the team has been focusing on during practices as they prepare for success this season.
“We struggle a lot with consistency because of clubs and other activities the runners participate in,” Busick said, but despite this, Busick believes there is still a high chance of making it to state. “We have a great senior class; they’ve trained hard these past four years.”
Senior Adriana Hernandez said “Cross Country is a sport that challenges your mindset and your body, and once you push past that, it’s a great feeling.”
Many of the runners have set goals for themselves and their team, making it easier to help them succeed. Hernandez said that the team is motivated by both personal goals and growing stronger as a group.
“It takes a lot of discipline and dedication to work hard and push ourselves, but our bonds help us look up to one another and succeed,” Hernandez said.
