The week of Sept.22, the Latinx Student Association is holding their annual Hispanic Heritage Week. HCP students are encouraged to dress up for the daily themes, attend after school events and purchase the snacks sold after school in the lobby and cafeteria.
On Monday students can pay $5 to dress up for the whole week, or can pay $2 for each day they want to participate in.
Monday: Jersey Day
Have a favorite sport or team? Represent them on Monday! Wear any jersey of your choice with jeans.
There will be a mini world cup after school. You will meet on the soccer field at 3:30. The event is free, and students will check in with Mr. Suarez by lunch to sign up for the game.
Tuesday: Twin Day
Tell your friend that you guys are twins for the day! You and your best friend(s) can come to school dressed in the same outfit.
After school in the lobby, Aguas fresca will be sold for $3.
Wednesday: Familia Day
Grades will be split into different age groups. Freshman and Sophomores will dress as kids, Juniors will dress as middle-aged adults and Seniors will be senior citizens.
After school at 3:30 a movie night will be held showing The Book of Life. It will be free entrance and fresas con cream will be sold for $2 at the movie.
Thursday: Culture day
Come and celebrate all the students’ unique cultures. Represent your culture and who you are with cultural attire or colors representing a flag.
Enjoy an elote after school for $4 in the cafeteria.
Friday: Vaquero (Cowboy) Day
Come to school in your best cowboy/girl outfits for vaquero day.
Thursday and Friday will be blocking schedule, and the annual Hispanic Heritage Month assembly will be held on Friday.
