All City Orchestra performed on Nov. 1 at the All City clinic at Classen SAS High School. Thomas Taylor Dickey, conductor of the orchestra program at Oklahoma State University, conducted the clinic.
The performers were: Monica Moghbel, Madeline Scott, Mason Abplanalp, Elijah Webster, Myles Wilson, Cameron Tippin, Raimi Shadik, Mareli Dominguez, Benjamin Peters, Zoe Hsu, Kaira Jackson and Joshua Taylor.
They performed “Snowflake” by Yukiko Nishimura, “Baila Conmigo” by Jerry Woolstenhulme and “Woodsplitter Fanfare” by Brian Balmages.
“The music was a lot of fun to play and challenging at the same time,” said junior Raimi Shadik.
Shadik felt his experience was the same as the last time he had performed, which was in his 8th grade year.
“The music this year seemed a lot easier than last year, so I picked up on it a lot faster,” said junior Madeline Scott.
Scott said she also felt more prepared and not as tired as her freshman year when she performed last. She said she got to know her stand partner a little more this year.
The high school and middle school orchestra performed “Nightrider” by Richard Meyer together. The middle schools in the clinic were Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School, Classen SAS Middle School, Southeast Middle School and Taft Middle School. The high schools in the clinic were Classen SAS @NE High School, Harding Charter Preparatory High School, Harding Fine Arts Academy, Northwest Classen High School and Southeast High School.
