Fall food, costume drive seeking donations through Nov. 3
October 13, 2017
The fall food and costume drive has begun.
Students can give cans of food, money or costumes to their advisory teachers for points, and the grade with the most points will win a free clothes day after the drive is over. One dollar is five points, one can is one point, and one costume is 20 points. Each advisory will also be able to decorate a box where they put their cans to personalize their contribution. The drive lasts from now until November 3.
Harding Charter Prep partners with the Regional Food Bank each year for the food and costume drive, and all of the food, costumes and money go through the food bank to be donated to children through the Infant Crisis Services, where they will be put to use feeding children and helping them have fun on Halloween.
Halloween costumes submitted to the drive must be in good condition, and they must be child-sized. They do not have to be new. More than one dollar can be submitted at a time, and food must be non-perishable. Boxed and canned goods are both accepted
