Album of the month

Camila Gonzalez and Elizabeth Brosius

Vanessa:
Genre: Pop
Favorite Track: Body Electric
Why: It’s just smooth and I love all her songs.
Isis:
Genre: Post-hardcore/alternative rock
Favorite Tracks: Dark Storms, Sunrise, Same Old War
Why: The singers are brothers but both have distinct sounds. The album itself is sweet. It goes against suicide and being the underdog with an intense sound.
Mrs. Taylor:
Genre: Jazz
Favorite Track: I. Hymn
Why: It is beautiful music and the composer is very interesting. He’s new and different and I want to tell everyone about him. And it’s different from everything else in this list.
Camila:
Genre: indie rock/folk
Favorite Tracks: All I Want is You by Barry Louis Polisar, Superstar by Sonic Youth, Loose Lips by Kimya Dawson, All the Young Dudes by Mott the Hoople, Anyone Else But You by The Moldy Peaches
Why: All of the songs on this soundtrack are amazing. There are lots of different styles and old and new songs. There are well-known artists and more obscure ones. I feel like it doesn’t get the attention it deserves so please check it out.
Hannah:
Genre: Alternative rock
Favorite Tracks: A Lifetime, Misunderstood, Rolling, Sincerely Me
Why: I love the lead singer’s voice and the sound of the music.
Stephanie:
Genre: Folk rock
Favorite Track: American Pie
Why: It reminds me of when I was younger and playing outside with my siblings.
Callie:
Genre: Pop with country influences
Favorite Tracks: Sparks Fly, Mine, Mean, Enchanted, Never Grow Up
Why: I love this album because I really think it showcases what is best about Taylor Swift and that’s her songwriting. The songs are beautifully written and very relatable. Whether you love or hate her, she is a brilliant songwriter and this album shows it.
Elizabeth:
Genre: Pop/Alternative
Favorite Tracks: Run Boy Run, I Won’t Let You Go, I Need You
Why: Once I watched the movie, I just fell in love with both the soundtrack and score for this movie. The songs I chose are written very well, and contribute to the movie well.
From the Yearbook Staff – Bobby:
Genre: Metalcore/post-hardcore/electronicore
Favorite Track: Can You Feel My Heart
Why: I love it because it’s different than the crap you hear on the radio. The lyrics are actually meaningful and deep. You can’t find it anywhere else. It’s not like the typical death metal music that people like to think it is!
