The baseball team has started their season off successfully.

The team has been earning the respect of many teams and coaches from their divisions.

The final score was 1-3 against Destiny Christian for their first game.

Coach Justin Hixon is proud of how the boys performed.

“It was the best first game we have played and the best defense we have played in four years,” Hixon said.

Junior Garrett Saunders is happy with how the team is performing and bonding.

“The team is bonding really well and we have new players this year who are fun to be around,” Saunders said.

Senior Braden Yarbrough threw 91 pitches with 74% of them strikes.

Juniors Cooper Wehde and James Williams also made important plays throughout the game which led to the team’s victory.

The team also recently played against John Marshall, who they run-ruled in the game. Yarbrough played another great game, hitting a home run over the fence.

Athletic director Mylo Miller is proud of how the baseball team is performing.

“Coach Hixon and the baseball players have competed hard this year and have made Harding Charter Prep very proud,” Miller said. “They are playing together as a team and continue to be successful.”
