Grace Frisby is the new Power-Up and credit recovery teacher here at HCP.
She grew up in Bethany where she then graduated from Putnam City West High School. She then attended OCCC and became a reading intervention teacher for 1st and 3rd graders at Thelma Parks Elementary School.
She majored in speech pathology “after working in elementary education and seeing firsthand how many of our future students need support with their speech and language skills,” Frisby said.
Outside of class, Frisby enjoys gardening and is a sponsor of HCP’s Gardening Club, alongside Dr. Angela Hare. She enjoys spending time with friends and organizing things to relax her mind.
As someone new to teaching high school, Frisby said she enjoys “getting to know the kids and the different aspects of their lives, which is a lot different than elementary school.”
Frisby hopes to inspire students to believe in themselves and help them reach their full potential, helping them each to grow in their writing and reading abilities.
