Yearbooks, described as “historical documents” by Kelli Taylor, the yearbook staff advisor, capture the priceless memories of fleeting high school years.
Our yearbook staff works diligently throughout the year to ensure our Aquila reflects what it looks like to be an eagle at Harding. Every year, the staff submit their hard work to a competition where they receive a score and insightful feedback.
The yearbooks are ranked based on their score. Our 2025 Aquila received the Division III Highest Honors rating and Division III All Oklahoma (top 3-5) ranking from the Oklahoma Scholastic Media.
The staff also entered individual competitions:
1st place caption writing Emily James
2nd place student life story Tiziana Mongu
1st place academic story Jack Powell
1st place organization story Ash Goodman
1st place sports story Jack Powell
2nd place personality profile Sarah Tirrell
2nd place Academic spread Reagan Liles and Evelyn Stirling
2nd place sports action photo Jack Powell
2nd place academic photo Cameron Peoples
3rd place student life photo Ash Goodman
1st place organization photo Jack Powell
Taylor credits some of their success to having creatively-minded staff and strong photographers. She explains that their 90’s inspired theme, “All In,” allowed for inspiration and ideas to flow easily.
Editor Amaya Hunt said that not everyone understands the importance of the yearbook and the “dedicated work it takes.” The staff’s job is to capture every person at this school and every day of the school year – not a small task.
Make sure not to miss out and buy the Aquila this year at jostensyearbook.com for $55. The price goes up at the end of January.
