The Marionette would like to congratulate the following students on their accomplishments:

Isaac Kabrick qualified for the State Swim Meet on February 15. Isaac will compete in the 100 yard breaststroke with a seeding time of 1:15.94, he is the 24th seed out of 24 swimmers. The 5A state meet takes place at the Edmond Schools Aquatic Center on Friday, February 21.

The HCP Eagles swept their competition at Homecoming on Valentine’s Day, ending the regular season on a high note. Seniors Cydney Washington and Ty Johnson were crowned Homecoming Queen and King. The juniors won the Homecoming hallway decorating contest.
Senior Jake Burga and junior Mitchel Williams performed with the OSSBDA Small-School All-State Band on January 15. Burga and Williams are the first students from HCP to perform with the honor band. They were conducted by Paula Crider, former director of bands at the University of Texas. The program included “Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre, “Sempre Fi” by John Phillip Sousa, and “Lincolnshire Posy” by Percy Grainger.
The students aren’t the only ones being celebrated, however. HCP celebrated its tenth anniversary and National Blue Ribbon status with former teachers, administrators and students. Richard Caram, first principal and co-founder of HCP, spoke, along with State Superintendent Janet Baressi, former teacher Dr. Stephen Prilliman, former teacher and administrator Emily Steele, 2007 Salutatorian Peter Wright, and current teachers Sally Ziebell and Conde Currat. The night also included music performed by the HCP women’s choir, Allegra Knight, and a woodwind quartet with Elise Widmer, Claire Widmer, Knight and Mitchel Williams. Seniors Jorja Rose and Rachel Wood inspired the audience with recitations by Taylor Mali.
