Soccer shoots for higher standards

The soccer team has had a successful and competitive season so far. Coach Cory Pocock is happy with how the teams are playing.

“Our best game, for the boys, has been against Santa Fe South even though we lost,” Pocock said. “They played with great effort against a great team that plays in the final every single year.”

The boy’s team has a season has a record of 3 – 5 so far.

Athletic director Mylo Miller is also pleased with how the boys are performing this season.

“The guys have been up and down this season, but I think that they will be fine going into the playoffs,” Miller said.

Junior Logan Cates is proud of how the girl’s team is playing this year.

“We run a lot to train,” Cates said. “The girl’s team is doing a lot better than we did last year. We have a new coach who played for the University of Oklahoma and she is really tough but good.”

Miller is also pleased with how the girl’s team has performed this season.

“I think that the girl’s team has done really well this year,” Miller said. “They have performed better than their original expectations.”

The girls team has a record of 2 – 2 so far this season.
