The Harding Charter Prep Men’s varsity basketball team has just finished their long-awaited opening game on November 11th.
The Eagles took on the Harding Fine Arts Firehawks, and beat them with an astounding score of 103-31, at Harding Fine Arts home court.
The leading scorer for HCP was sophomore Kobe Ferguson with 25 points.
The games started off even, with both teams hitting a couple good shots. The Eagles had a small lead.
The game felt like it could have been closer, but once the Eagles got going, nothing could stop them.
They played excellent defense and had great team chemistry on offense. There was always an open man for the Eagles.
Making the right passes and hitting difficult shots is what allowed the team to dominate on offense. The team also threw alley-oops to show the confidence that they had while they were on the court. Everybody was doing a little bit of everything.
Everyone on the team was doing their job with excellence. There was not a weak side of the ball. Each player on the team had some part in their victory.
This was a very good win for the Eagles and the best possible way to open up the season as they start off with a very commanding, 1-0 record.
This game will be a tough match-up for both teams, but will definitely be an exciting one to watch for everyone.
