Spring semester has begun, and the 2026 soccer season is coming up in a month.
The girls ended their season with a disappointing 3-9 record last season. They are bringing in a new coach, Kadijah Culpepper, with the hope of turning the program around.
On the other hand, the Men’s team finished with a 7-6 record and a playoff appearance. This was their first playoff appearance in three years. Unfortunately, they lost in the first round to the Bethany Bronchos.
Head Coach Cory Pocock is looking to lead his Eagles back to the playoffs for another shot at that golden ball. The team will have many familiar faces this season, after only losing two seniors last season. This season the men’s team will be a heavy senior team.
The Eagles will bring in a ton of new faces to the team, including many freshmen.
Senior stars Sebastian Silva and Andreas Markey joined the Beyond the Buzzer podcast on Tuesday for a pre-season interview. They said they have loved their time here at Harding Charter Prep and have made many core memories throughout their soccer careers.

“I love the environment. I have been with this team for so many years. I’m going to miss it a lot. I’m looking forward to a new chapter,” Markey said.
Markey plans to attend the University of Oklahoma in the fall and major in Sports Business and play soccer for an intramural team.
Sebastian Silva transferred to Harding Charter Prep for his sophomore year.
“When I arrived, I did not know what my name was, until Pocock saw me and called me Sebas,” Silva said. “He influenced me to become the player I am today.”
Silva plans to attend Southern Nazerene University in the fall and major in Business. He also intends to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level.
The Eagles will begin their season with three pre-season scrimmages: Feb. 17 at Guthrie, Feb. 21 at Christian Heritage 7v7 Tournament, and Friday and Saturday Feb 27-28 at Astec.
The Eagles took the victory in their first scrimmage vs. Guthrie on Tuesday, 3-1, with two goals from junior James Featherstone, with one assisted by Senior Sebastian Silva. The last goal was deemed to be an own goal by Guthrie.
The Girls took a hard loss, 5-1, with the solo goal for the Lady Eagles being an own goal scored by Guthrie.
The regular season will commence against Pathways on Mar. 3 with the girls playing at 5:30 p.m. and the boys playing at 7:30 p.m.
