Eagle Week sneak peek

April is fast approaching, so that means Eagle Week is also coming up!

Eagle Week is a fun week that is also for a good cause. Students participate by paying the “Ugly Men” to participate in all sorts of crazy dares. All money goes to a select charity.

“Eagle Week is a week that our school and our community can come together for one purpose and that is to make a difference outside of school,” said STUCO advisor Steven Stefanick.

Some of the dares are given by students.

“I made Julian crab walk to class for four dollars. He was dressed like a girl that day and it was hilarious,” said junior Corvin Barlow.

Past dares included such things as drinking a McDonald’s kids meal smoothie and licking mustard off unshaven legs. There will be some changes to the 2015 Eagle Week.

“We want the dares this year to be more fun and memorable,” said STUCO member Peighton Hargis.

“The dares will become more funny and less gross in general to be more appealing to our audience, our school and our community. I don’t think guests appreciate the grossness. I didn’t say it was going away but we’re trying to get away from it a little bit,” Stefanick said.

The charity will remain anonymous until the time comes, however Stefanick offered a hint:

“They’re local and you’re familiar with them with Disney World,” said Stefanick. “That’s it. We’ll see who can figure it out.”

HCP successfully raised $12,000 for last year’s charity organization, Hearts for Hearing.

“Obviously the charity we’re picking is completely different from what we’ve done in the past,” he said. “We’re going to make a big difference this year.”

Eagle Week begins April 6th.
