As the year progresses, Harding’s Orchestra recently participated in the All-City Honor Orchestra.
Harding Charter Prep was one of many schools to have students be a part of this orchestra. Participating in this orchestra is considered a high honor among many and is one of Harding’s most memorable musical moments of the year.
Virtual Auditions were conducted earlier in September, and they performed on November 8 at Classen SAS. Members consisted of Austin Stewart on bass, Hector Moreno Enrique on violin, Joshua Taylor on cello, Myles Wilson on violin, Benjamin Peters on cello, Raimi Shadik on viola, Cameron Tippin on viola, Danna Zuniga-Moore on violin, Elijah Webster on violin, Zoe Hsu on cello, Peter Etherington on viola and Mareli Dominguez on viola.
The orchestra was conducted by Levi Dobrinski of Shawnee Public Schools, who was formerly the orchestra director at Putnam City West High School. The clinic consisted of the pieces “Fire in the Forge” by Ted Allen, to “After the Rain” by Susan H. Day, and even pop culture favorite “Uptown Funk” arranged by Larry Moore.
“The music was fun to play. Our clinician was very fun. I love his energy,” said senior Raimi Shadik. “It was a long day, but that made our performance worth it.”
