The moment I peered through the glass door I knew it was either going to be an epic fail or totally worth the hype. Today I reviewed Shake Shack, opening its first Oklahoma City location in The Oak. The mission was to see if they were really in competition with “In N Out” or was it all a hoax. Although they had many burger options I settled with the “Chicken Shack” and added avocado with a side of plain fries and a pomegranate basil lemonade.
The first bite of the Chicken sandwich was mind blowing. Chicken was heavily coated but didn’t give you the overwhelming feeling of grease. The fries were very fresh and golden brown with a crisp to them. I washed it all down with the Pomegranate basil lemonade and it made me feel like I was on a tropical island.
Overall I would recommend Shake Shack, and it was definitely worth the hype in my opinion. The prices were fairly decent each item ranged from $6.99-$8. I wish they had combos instead of having to buy everything separately. However, you get your money’s worth for the portion sizes.
